What it is like to live in the Old Town
Living in the Old Town means living on foot: the market, the port, the university, the theatres and the terraces are all a short walk away. Beneath the streets lie 3,000 years of history and, above them, Modernist buildings that have been restored one by one.
Homes vary a lot: high-ceilinged flats with balconies over the street, new buildings on old plots, penthouses looking over the port and the odd whole house to renovate. Two flats on the same street can have nothing in common.
